Self defense is a human right. Thus, there is no reason that a licensed, responsible, gun owning student should not be allowed to carry a concealed weapon in order to defend themselves as well as those around them in the horrible event that that need would arise. In addition to this, the carrying of licensed concealed weapons on the UT Austin campus has been allowed for years, barring only only inside of buildings on campus-with no ill effects.
