President Obama, you've already worked to take care of those who can't afford healthcare. Now it's time to take care of another group of less fortunate: our animals. Despite being a nation of pet lovers, millions are needlessly euthanized every year. Mainly it is because there is not enough room: too many animals are not fixed and so continue to have babies; too many people give up on their pets because they're no longer a cute puppy or become inconvenient.
We need reform. We need you to speak out about funding all shelters enough to become no-kill. We need to bring unlicensed pet breeders, pet stores, and abusive owners to justice. We need to make sure all animals are chipped so they can be reunited with their families.
