The influence of money in American politics is out of control. Members of Congress are so focused on raising funds for their next campaign that they give up their stance on the issues to special interest groups and corporations.
Bills such as SM672 and HM83 support the proposal of a constitutional amendment to enact term limits on US Congress. Without the perpetual worry of maintaining their job and political career, members of congress will be better able to actually govern and get something done in their limited time in office.
We urge the Administration to publicly support these bills and work towards making our government more effective and less focused on money, re-election and fundraising.
