This petition seeks to simply create a Constitutional Amendment that defines marriage as the legal union between one man and one woman.
Such an amendment would not infringe on the rights of those individuals not meeting the definition of marriage that would like a civil agreements for the disposition/sharing of assets, medical decisions, care-taking, and other functions/benefits typically allowed to married persons, but it would create a protection for "traditional" marriage as defined by this amendment as a benefit to society for both the present and the future.
