The US government has coasted along with a liberal, ineffectual interpretation of the so called "Establishment Clause", broken frequently.
We petition that the federal government pass a constitutional amendment outlawing any government organization or office from recognizing in official capacity any religion or religious practice, by word or action.
The government should also do nothing to restrict the open practice by private citizens of any theistic or atheistic religious practice except as those practices may be a crime otherwise.
Any church not undertaking significant charity efforts must be taxed as a normal business.
This petition means to codify the secular nature of our government as the founding fathers intended, evidenced through a large body of their writings.
