Support a Constitutional Amendment to strengthen the War Powers Clause and require military intervention to be declared.

Created by A.B. on November 20, 2012

By creating a Constitutional Amendment strengthening the requirement to declare war, we will improve the following:
- Make the responsibility of going to war equal between the President and Congress
- Affirm to the people that their lives have now changed and that they will be bearing burdens.
- Greater legitimacy at home and abroad.
- Increase checks and balances between the people and the government.

Not since WWII has the U.S. fought a declared war, and yet over 300,000 Americans have died or been wounded in undeclared wars since this time.

Examples of undeclared wars:
Korean War
Vietnam War
Gulf War
2001 war in Afghanistan
Iraq War

Power and control are something we (Dem, Rep, whatever) all seek. The Constitution is designed to constrict and limit our ability to seek them.
