To support a constitutional amendment for Supreme Court elections and term limits

Currently, justices are appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. When they retire, many justices will wait until a president of their political ideology is elected to ensure a new justice upholds their stance. This violates the very idea of democracy where the people should control their government. The idea was to have a system with three equal, balanced branches. By judicial review, a lifetime commission, and presidential appointment, the Supreme Court is the MOST powerful arm of the government and it made up of persons that weren't voted on, approved or confirmed by the people. Direct elections would help to correct this problem; 1 term of 20 years would ensure that the court has the continuity and stability desired by the Framers but ensures that politics are minimized.
