Support a constitutional amendment that would determine elections through the Popular Vote.

Created by D.M. on November 12, 2012

Every vote should be created equal, but that is not the case under the electoral college system. A vote for a Democrat in Alabama or a vote for a Republican in New York is not as valuable as a vote from Ohio or Florida. Regardless of whether you live in a red state, a blue state, or a swing state, your vote should count for no more or less than any other vote.

We are petitioning the Obama administration to draft and support a constitutional amendment that would dispose of the electoral college system and replace it with the popular vote.

By electing the president through the popular vote, we aim to increase voter turnout, encourage presidential campaigns to spend more time campaigning across the country (rather than only in swing states), and give every citizen an equal vote.
