Special interest groups have usurped the democratic process by using financial contributions to control elections and national policy. Due to the corrupting influence of money in politics our country is ruled by an oligarchy, not a democracy.
Citizen's United and other Supreme Court decisions have made executive and legislative solutions impossible, a constitutional amendment is now the only recourse. On Friday May 2nd, Vermont became the first state to call for a constitutional convention to give the country back to the people, overturn Citizen's United, and remove the dollar’s stranglehold on our government.
We ask the Administration to support state legislatures calling for a constitutional convention to pass a 28th Amendment to return to a government both by, and for, the people.
