Every Wednesday in the UK, the Prime Minister travels to the House of Commons and answers questions on live TV for 30 minutes. The opposing parties can respond to these answers, encouraging the exchange of ideas and facts about a myriad of issues that are important to the public. In the US, we have no such system. The President is never questioned by the Congress. In fact, the most direct interaction between the two branches of government is the State of the Union. To discourage this burdensome political rhetoric that has infected our political discourse, it's completely common sense that we have a President's Question Time. What I'm asking is for the President to push for this system to be enacted, and to suggest that his colleagues on both sides of the spectrum propose it as a bill.
