Hemp is a highly renewable resource that has been used throughout history for paper and a variety of goods. The cultivation of hemp would create an income for poor rural communities that were formerly centered around the growth of tobacco. Furthermore, the difference between hemp and marijuana needs to be publicized due to the mass cunfusion of the two. The logging industry would still be profitable as there is no substitute for lumber that is derived from hemp products.
