The President of the United States should allow the passage into law of the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, if the Senate votes as such. The United States desperately needs a cyber-security law as the number of cyber-attacks each year is increasing (Symantec reported a 42% increase from 2011 to 2012), costing small businesses and large corporations billions, as well as threatening the economic and material safety of all Americans.
In addition to providing the information necessary to better protect the US' cyber systems, CISPA has been amended to address issues of privacy, specifically stating that information gathered cannot be used for anything besides cyber-security and child pornography and trafficking investigations, and creating multiple layers of government oversight.
