We support Dr. Marilyn Brown's reinstatement to the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Her familiarity with the operations of the TVA and her detailed knowledge of climate issues and energy policy make her eminently qualified to serve in this capacity. We must not allow partisan politics to exclude someone with her background, especially at this time, when our energy portfolio requires informed decision-making.
TVA should serve as a model for other power generation and distributor networks in the U.S. by demonstrating the best understanding of science, business, and industry.
Dr. Brown has served as a knowledgeable spokesperson for sound science and energy policy on the TVA Board and should not be blocked from her continued exemplary service to our country.
