I'm no hippie and fully understand the need for a strong military and even sometimes war but gas prices are high and American lives are being put in danger (and ending) for a resource that will eventually run out. I say we take action now and begin implementing funds spent on our glorious war machine to further research, production, and availability of fuel alternatives better than oil.
To paraphrase from The Six Million Dollar Man:
"Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first sustainable alternative fuels for our every day use. The U.S.A will be that country. Better than it was before. better...stronger...faster."
