President Obama sent White House/Cabinet officials to the funerals of Mr. Freddie Gray and Mr. Michael Brown. At times when tensions between communities and law enforcement are at an all time high, it appears as if the President has turned his back on the men and women who are killed in the line of duty, while seemingly supporting the families of individuals who fall "at the hands of police." White House level officials meet with the families, yet the families of fallen police officers are overlooked, or rate a general comment from the White House via interview or press conference.
If the White House sends officials to the funerals of alleged suspects why are fallen police officers and their families not honored for the sacrifices that they make? Why does the President not honor them?
