In response to the introduction of the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act (S.284/H.R.624) in the U.S. Senate and House, Freedom House issued the following statement:
Mark P. Lagon, president of Freedom House. “Under no circumstances should the United States allow those who commit these crimes to benefit from entering the United States or have access to our financial system. It is vital that the United States stand with human rights defenders in the fight against corruption and gross human rights violations.”
