We, the undersigned, want federal funding for political parties and independent candidates at election time, in an amount comparable to private donations and proportional to votes received in the previous election. This will necessarily be mandatory spending paid from general revenue.
This is intended to reduce the influence of major donors and political extremists on the mainstream parties and force voters to financially support their preferred candidates.
