SUPPORT GRIEVING PARENTS. Pass mandatory paid leave of at least six weeks for parents who have lost a child of any age.

Created by P.C. on December 26, 2012

Most jobs allow a parent who has given birth to a child or adopted a child take six weeks of paid leave time. However, employers usually only offer their employees three to five days leave when the employee has a death in the family. If that death involves the death of a child, it is simply unhealthy and unreasonable to expect that a parent could return to work within one week of their child's death. This petition proposes that employers must grant a minimum of six weeks paid leave time for parents who lose a child to death.
