Standard bankruptcy protections should have NEVER been removed from student loans. Removing these fundamental protections from student loans has inflated the price of college, has enabled a government backed, PREDATORY lending mechanism to be inflicted upon the citizenry, and has WRECKED THE LIVES of TENS OF MILLIONS of DECENT CITIZENS. Hear it now, and BELIEVE IT NOW: bankruptcy protections are at the top of the list of the enumerated duties of Congress. Fail to uphold this duty, and Congress FAILS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
