Implementing a 0.5% financial transaction fee on every dollar of all financial transactions provides additional revenue for governments. There are already fees imposed by all types of investment houses so people are already accustomed to paying for transactions. The profits from these transaction fees are tremendous! It would not be a burden on investors or on investment houses to add an additional 0.5% transaction fee that goes directly to the government. This revenue can then be used to support job creation, essential services, infrastructure, education, and other services that the government is responsible to pay. Many other countries already impose a very nominal fee for financial transactions. We should do the same.
