Ryukyu, which is called Okinawa now, was a independent country. It was illegally invaded in 1879 by Japan, and set to the Okinawa prefecture.
Ryukyuan don't identify with Japan. they have been trying to get independent from Japan.
The U.S. should order Japan to allow Ryukyu to gain independence.
