Support an initiative that no person shall serve more than two-terms in the Senate or House of Representatives.

Created by D.L. on January 06, 2013

No senator, or member of the House could serve two consecutive terms in the same office and would have to sit out at least two years before being eligible for a different federal office, although he/she could be elected to an unlimited number of terms in any number of federal offices.

To prevent a complete turnover every four years, terms could be staggered so that half the members of the Senate and House are up for re-election every two years. However, in the first election under my plan, half of the Senate and House would get four-year terms, with the other half getting two-year terms.

This initiative would end the endless cycle of campaign fundraising and careerism currently taking place in the Capital and restore representative government for the people.
