The United States Congress, as has become apparent in recent months, cannot stop infighting long enough to do a single decent thing for its constituents. Even the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was a laughable amalgam of lobbyist influence and feeble compromise. It is time to take steps against a system that supports corrupt career politicians over citizen legislators.
