Mr. President, Rohingya community members have filed a communication with the International Criminal Court petitioning the Prosecutor to conduct a preliminary examination into genocide and crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Myanmar government.
Mr President, genocide is an evil crime that should not be tolerated on any level under any circumstance. Our history has too many examples of failing to act swiftly. The USA has an opportunity to stop the killing, mutilation, and rape of the Rohingya group.
Mr. President, Myanmar's democracy tolerates impunity and gross human rights violations. Please stand support the communication and stand up for them now.
