Support a law mandating the yearly firing of congress if important business (budget, nominations, etc) is unfinished.

Created by L.D. on December 29, 2012

Congress has not passed a full budget in 3 years. There are currently over 200 Presidential nominations awaiting Senate approval.

If normal citizens are negligent at their jobs, their jobs are terminated--Congress should not be exempt from this principle. Voters should keep their elected officials accountable at the ballot box, however for a variety of reasons our electoral system is fundamentally broken.

Every year, all Congressional members should be dismissed from congress and banned from re-election if they are unable to do their jobs and pass a budget or vote on Presidential nominations.

This would allow a fresh set of elected officials to join Congress, and perhaps this new set of individuals would be able to work together effectively.
