In the United States every individual deserves to be treated equally under the law whether they be black or white, Muslim or Christian, gay or straight, etc.
It is not legal to prevent same-sex marriages. The 14th Amendment guarantees that all citizens be treated equally under the law and denying gay citizens their rights to the benefits of marriage does not stand up to the Constitution.
It is time that we pull our heads out of the sand and realize that discriminating against the LGBT community is no more rational than discriminating against someone because of their personal beliefs, race, ethnicity, or disability.
Support the Constitution. Support equality.
