Support legislation to provide free universal health care to veterans. We should support those who fought for us.

Created by A.P. on June 03, 2013

An estimated one in ten non-elderly veterans are either uninsured or forced to rely on the overburdened VA system. These men and women willingly sacrificed for our nation and should not simply be abandoned by that same country once their service is completed. In addition, while the VA does offer care for service connected health conditions, the VA is overwhelmed and is often times far from the veteran who needs the care. A sensible approach would be to enact legislation which would create a system whereby a part of the separation process from the military is to be inducted into an insurance plan where the government is the payer and the veteran can use local physicians and hospitals. This would also serve to allow the VA to focus on the backlog of disability claims.
