Government bailouts of large companies deprives consumers of innovation and exposes taxpayers to undue liability. This practice encourages companies to engage in reckless practices by allowing them to shift the cost of their actions onto the public. Additionally, some of these companies may consider lawsuits against the government if they later believe their bailout agreement was not favorable enough which further exposes taxpayer's dollars to risk. We believe it is best if large companies be held fully responsible for their actions so that they take care to provide desirable products to consumers and otherwise act responsibly.
