We encourage the White House and The Congress to support a long-term minimum wage policy that consists of the following.
1. Raising the Federal Minimum Wage from 7.25 per hour to 11.50 per hour in a incremental scale over a four-year period.
2. Once the Federal Minimum Wage is at 11.50 per hour, then adjust the minimum wage by inflation through an annual Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA).
We hope an minimum wage increase with a long-term cost of living adjustment will help low wage workers achieve wages kept up with the cost of living. We also hope this minimum wage proposal will help prevent continual wage debates.
