Dennis Tito plans for a privately funded, manned flyby of Mars within 5 years. In order to capitalize on this as a spaceflight advancement and ensure its success it would be feasible for the U.S.Government to add Federal matching dollars for any effort which is conducted within the U.S.. This would advance space flight and science within the strained budget constraints that we now face.
