Support mental health treatment of youth prior to incarceration.

Created by J.B. on February 03, 2013

There are many organizations nationwide funded to research, organize, assist & coordinate the mental health care of youth. The sad truth is that despite all good intentions these organizations remain ineffective due to lack funding & a failure to organize on a local level in less urban areas. As the recent tragedies in our schools clearly demonstrate, there is an obscene lack of continuum of care for the group of individuals most affected by mental health issues. Persons between the age of 14-24 are the most likely to develop mental illness. Especially for youth with dual-diagnosis, mental health/addiction; schools, health care providers, and parents to find lack of timely treatment often leads to incarceration or tragedy. Fund & support treatment accessibility of youth in crisis.
