The Affordable Care Act has a gap in dates for people who had individual health insurance policies that causes 4-5% of the population to lose their existing coverage. This is contrary to what the President assured the public would not happen, even though he knew it wasn't entirely true. He and our Congressional representatives failed to tell us that only those policies in effect before the signing of the ACA would be grandfathered in to allow free choice to all who are affected.
The President's spin on this issue is wrong and disrespectful of the people suffering financial upheaval and extreme stress due to his dishonesty by omission and Congressional failure to plug a gap in time.
Not all of the 5% had junk policies that cost more or provided less coverage than the Exchange offerings.
