Economist Muhammad Yunus- Nobel Peace Prize winner in 2006 has founded the Grameen Bank that lifted millions of poverty stricken populations around the world out of this social curse. His model of microcredit to poor without collateral is now adopted as one of the main avenues of poverty alleviation around the world. Professor Yunus serves on the board of directors of the United Nation Foundation. Professor Yunus was chosen by Wharton School of Business for PBS, as one of 'The 25 Most Influential Business Persons of the Past 25 Years’. It is time that America relinquishes its de facto claim of World Bank Presidency in favor of this world leader who comes from a least developed country. This gesture will certainly uplift America’s poor public image in the developing countries.
