Nuclear energy is currently the United States most viable source for creating massive amounts of power in an environmentally friendly fashion, and will also allow the nation to become energy independent. In France, 80% of their power comes from nuclear plants, and through proper oversight and regulation they have been able to provide clean and safe power that meets the energy demands of the modern world.
The public also needs education about nuclear power, so that they can make informed decisions about our best source for clean, domestic energy.
If 80% of our energy were to be produced by nuclear power plants, and the majority of our cars became electric, we would greatly be able to reduce pollution and be energy independent without sacrificing modern amenities.
