With the recent furlough affecting many government agencies funding throughout the federal system, something else must be done for the American people to support the programs they feel are most important to them personally.
Moves should be made that will allow government programs and agencies to be able to appeal to the American people directly by opening them up in a similar manner as charitable organizations for donations. Differences being:
1) Donations would not be tax deductable, but:
2) Donations would be made pre-taxed (as the funds are going to government programs directly.)
This change would force the government to be more open about what it does and incentivize donations, as well as help public programs such as NASA and USPS augment budget losses by direct American support.
