Support our future by significantly increasing the wages of teachers in primary and secondary schools.

Created by M.T. on April 11, 2013

Note that in Switzerland the average teacher’s salary is $110,000. In the United States, the average teacher’s salary is $50,000, or less than half that of Switzerland.

In college, I took a Sociology class where one of the lectures concerned the “dumbing down” of America. The teacher quite bluntly and accurately said that anyone above a certain level of intelligence would not work as a teacher for primary and secondary schools, because they could make better money elsewhere. If you want America to be great, you need more intelligent teachers so that kids are better educated, and that means you need teachers to be paid more money. It’s as simple as that.

This petition would seek to increase teachers' salaries in primary and secondary schools so we can remain competitive with the world.
