Delays are averaging 262 days, and in many cases lasting more than one year, for veterans to get access to the health care they earned.

Although the expansion of eligible beneficiaries and the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have increased the pressure on the agency this delay is unacceptable.

The inability for the Defense Department and VA databases to coordinate is puzzling considering the budget has been increased in recent years: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2011/02/2010-budget-veterans-affairs...

Please inform Americans how this happened and what is being done to improve it.
