Support a paid, federally-mandated maternity leave for new mothers in both the public and private sector.

The United States is the only developed country in the world that doesn't require employers to provide a paid maternity leave to new mothers. As more women enter the workforce, it's increasingly important to provide them with the financial security necessary to starting a new family. We encourage the Obama administration to vigorously urge congress to create new legislation that will mandate that new mothers will receive a nationwide paid maternity leave regardless of the size of their workplace, location, and their economic standing.
