The Obama Administration is currently on track to miss a once-in-a-generation opportunity to redefine our country's relationship with the Middle East. But it does not have to be this way.
Support for the Palestinian Authority's (PA) bid for statehood at the UN will create a safer world for our steadfast friends, the Israeli people, and enable us to build friendships with emerging Arab democracies.
The democratic and anti-extremist PA has a chance to succeed where violence and totalitarianism has failed for decades. We have a chance to permanently silence those who see terrorism as a solution, and to shift our paradigm in the Middle East from supporting dictators to supporting the cause of liberty.
Please, Mr. Obama, on behalf of people everywhere, consider this opportunity.
