Support the passage of the Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Law in Puerto Rico to all certified Optometrist.

Created by M.A. on April 29, 2013

Puerto Rico is the only jurisdiction in the United States where optometrist are not allowed to utilize therapeutic pharmaceutical agents. The current TPA laws limit the scope of practice for optometrist and place a great restrain on the level of eye care provided in Puerto Rico. Cerftifed Optometrist have the training and the knowledge to prescribe and treat ocular conditions with medication. Optometrist in every state and terriority must pass a national examination to become certified. Therefore all optometrist should be held at an equal level. By holding back pharamictucal rights from optomerist in Puerto Rico, the law limits the quality of health care. Help the people get vision care they deserve and support this cause!
