Congress is trying to spend $3 billion on refurbishing old clunky M1 tanks due to the lobbying of General Dynamics. This is even when the Pentagon and the army clearly do not want or need them and repeatedly said so.
This petition is to ask President Obama to veto the measure if it comes to his table. If the army doesn't want it and all we do with spare tanks is sell them to other countries (we already have 3000 of them sitting idle in a base in Reno, NV), then we should not waste our money on them.
The jobs in the factories in Ohio can be supported in another way rather than spending money needlessly on tanks we don't want or need.
