Tobacco products have a history of using targeted advertising and marketing campaigns that entice young people into beginning smoking; and becoming addicted for life. The deadly effects of this addiction are well documented and known to almost all Americans. However, when you are a teenager who has that invincible mentality, the danger of companies luring them into using tobacco products is very real. Even as the cigarette companies have done in the past, students are now flocking to buy and use e-cigarettes, due to many similar tactics as were employed on the generation before to buy cigarettes. The same harmful and addictive substances reside in these products, and they are largely unregulated. Plain packaging laws will remind them of these dangers at the point of purchase.
