The Pregnant Women Support Act is a bill proposed by Democrats to reduce the number of abortions by fighting its root causes. The act would NOT change the legal status of abortion. The act would provide aid for low income women raising children, increases tax credits for adoption, eliminate pregnancy as a pre-existing condition in healthcare, require SCHIP to cover pregnant women, provide funding to help women in abusive relationships, and provide grants for ultrasound equipment.
