Support proven environment government success funding DOE Waste Isolation Pilot Plant, save union & small business jobs

Created by B.C. on September 24, 2011

Cutting funding to successful programs focused on environmental restoration doesn't make sense. Increases government liabiities in meeting state agreements, increases opportunities for injury with aging equipment, etc. For FY11 need to add 30 million for operational funding, 28 million for NMED oversight, 165 million for the capital asset budget which was left totally unfunded and 250 million for scope expansion to address additional waste streams. Poor funding is currently causing layoffs that include union, small business contractors, and many others with community roll-down. Thought the goal was saving and creating jobs. This is way to do it with proven success while meeting goals related to environment and government liabiities. Need continued FY12-35 funding to continue safely.
