support the publics right to dependable public transportation from Long Island NY to Manhattan and stop the LIRR strike.

Created by A.W. on July 11, 2014

The Long Island Rail Road or LIRR is a commuter rail system in New York, stretching from Manhattan to the eastern tip of Suffolk County on Long Island. It is the busiest commuter railroad in North America, serving nearly 335,000 passengers daily. The LIRR is the only commuter passenger railroad in the United States to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with significant off peak, weekend, and holiday service. It is absolutely imperative that the Federal Government step in to make sure the threatened strike by the LIRR does not materialize.
