SUPPORT THE RE-STRUCTURING OF FEDERAL TERM LIMITS TO COMBAT CAREERISM AND REMOVE DISTRACTIONS TO ELECTED OFFICIALS.

Created by N.W. on January 06, 2013

Lack of term limits/life time terms enable the rise of career-politicians and the inevitable dulling of capability.

Regular election cycles distract incumbent politicians from the business of governing with conviction and efficiency.

Lack of regular changeover in the Supreme Court allows for stagnation of thought.

Re-structure term limits to the following:
President - two 6-year terms, total (not served consecutively).
VP - Limit of 4 total terms as VP.
Senator - Limit to two 8-year terms, total.
Congressman - limit to four 4-year terms, total.
SC Justice - limit to one 20-year term.

Individuals may serve in multiple positions, but must remain cognizant of the total number of years allowed for each individual position.

Mandatory retirement at age 85 or expiration of current term.
