Remove the right of the federal government to impose either direct or indirect taxes (including income, sales, property, excise, or any other financial obligation) upon any individual person, business, or economic activity. All revenues collected by the federal government, including those required to support social security, must be collected directly from the 50 states. Each state's share would be determined by the gross domestic product of that state, calculated in the previous calendar year. Individual states would continue to have the right to collect taxes in any of the ways they do now, but they would collect more in order to pay their share of the federal tax burden.
