support the Resident Physician Shortage Reduction Act (S.577) which will increase the number of physicians in America.

This bill would increase the number of medical doctors trained to practice medicine as licensed physicians in the U.S. Currently, 40,000 medical doctors do not find a training position to practice medicine in the U.S. This means that there are 40,000 doctors every year, including U.S. citizens who cannot practice medicine because they are not being trained after they graduate from medical school. A doctor cannot practice medicine in the United States unless he or she has gone through resident physician training.
This Act will increase the number of resident physician training positions by 15,000 per year, doubling the number of trained physicians available to serve you. A handful of senators are fighting to get this Act approved, but they need your help.
