Kurdish people in Iraq have been suffering for the past century under different regimes in Iraq. They have been persecuted, tortured, imprisoned, killed, sent to concentration camps (1980s), and gassed by chemical weapons by Iraqi regime during Iran-Iraq war (Halabja). During all of these times they have looked for support from western countries with no avail, and they have been a strong ally of the United States and their allies during Gulf War in 1990 and again in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Now that the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq is in the process voting on a referendum for self-determination in Kurdish part of Iraq, they will need the support of the people and the government of the USA.Please sign this petition in support of an Independent Kurdistan.
