Obama has threatened to veto the National Defense Authorization Act previously because of a section that included U.S. citizens being captured and detained indefinitely-- abroad and/or on our country's soil, and the legislation lingo was "edited" to supposedly exclude it. However, they merely made it vague to where it still has the provision in there.
When signed by the president, he exclaimed that "this administration" 'would not use it'... but what of future presidencies who have more of a mind to silence dissent? Would you consciously leave a brittle floodgate for abuse in place?
There is heavy concern over the potential abuse for this section, and we ask you support Congressman Paul's legislation to repeal Section 1021 of the NDAA.
